Lupita Nyong'o's Oscars 2015 Dress Stolen from Hotel Room: Find Out What Happened to the $150K Pearl Gown

Couture swiping spree!  

Lupita Nyong'o's Oscars 2015 Calvin Klein gown was stolen right out of her hotel room, a source confirms to Us Weekly. (TMZ was first to report the news.) The custom halter dress with an open back design was created by Francisco Costa and featured 6,000 white pearls, and is valued at $150,000.

"I can confirm a dress was stolen from the London Hotel that belonged to the actress Lupita Nyong'o," a spokesperson from the L.A. sheriff's department tells Us. "We believe it was taken sometime during the day yesterday (2/25). We are looking at every scenario; when the cleaners go to clean the rooms they do it with the door open so that's a possibility." The spokesperson added, "Currently we are still investigating, detectives are interviewing and looking for witnesses."

The elegant number landed the star on Us Weekly's Best Dressed list. A Calvin Klein devotee, Nyong'o also sported a rose gold beaded strapless dress from the brand for the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.

According to TMZ, the 12 Years a Slave actress, 31, told police the theft occurred between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, while she was gone from her room. The website reports police are analyzing security camera footage to find the guilty party behind the heist.

The hotel also confirms the unfortunate incident. "This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation."

Nyong'o was excited to present the Best Supporting Actor award, which was won by J.K. Simmons for Whiplash. “The pressures off you know," Nyong'o said. "I can just dress up and enjoy the show.”

Livin' on the edge! Charli XCX left very little to the imagination when she hit the Brit Awards red carpet in London on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Strutting her stuff in a backless mesh gown, the "Boom Clap" singer flashed some extreme sideboob — so extreme, in fact, that even she was worried about a wardrobe malfunction.

Sparkly Blackface Makeup Hits the Runway at Milan Fashion Week: See Pics of the Show

Risky fashion! 

The trend of designers who are pushing the envelope (see: Rick Owens' crotch-exposing designs) doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. Claudio Cutugno presented his collection with models in sparkly blackface makeup on Feb. 24 during Milan Fashion Week.

The all-black themed show featured sheer blouses, feathered embellishments, and glitter speckled knitwear, and was reportedly inspired by Italian artist Emilio Isgro. Top fashion and beauty websites like Bustle, The Gloss, and Refinery 29 were quick to take note of the questionable use of makeup.

"Was there no one backstage who thought, 'Hey, you know what else this kind of looks like?' Putting glitter on top of black paint does not even remotely take away the insulting nature of this practice," a fashion writer from Refinery29 argued.

The use of the dark makeup (and some black, glittered masks) was meant to present the models as if they were being swarmed by insects, according to the Daily Mail.

It's Thursday, which means Us Weekly's latest Pretty Little Liars #TBT photo is in—and this time it features Janel Parrish as Mona Vanderwaal, creepily staring off into the distance inside her early "A" lair.

The photo is from PLL's season four, episode 24, entitled "A is for Answers." And yes, it's for those of you who were wondering how wild Mona must have looked just hanging out in her hate den, plotting her revenge against the girls.

Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan Play It Safe, Yet Sexy at Fifty Shades of Grey Premiere: See Their Red Carpet Looks!

Taking a break from the Red Room! Costars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan toned it down at the world premiere of their highly anticipated S&M flick Fifty Shades of Grey. Dressed classically — yet still sexy — in all black, the two actors looked dapper posing together on the red carpet at the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival at Zoo Palast on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Berlin, Germany.

One day after appearing on the Tonight Show, Johnson, who plays innocent-yet-seduced Anastasia Steele, opted for a long-sleeved black Dior gown and a bold red lip. Melanie Griffith’s daughter, 25, kept her accessories to the minimum and bared only her decolletage. The tame look is a dramatic difference to her dazzling strapless Chanel gown at the Golden Globes last month.

Mr. Grey, er, Dornan, looked handsome in a sleek black suit with a dark navy bow tie and pocket square.

Although the costars had to reshoot scenes because of an apparent lack of chemistry prior to the flick’s release, Dornan gushed about working with Johnson during a recent interview with Vogue.

“Dakota is very funny — and humor on a film set goes a long way,” says Dornan, who gets more than up-close-and-personal with the star in the film. “But she also had the ability to be a very strong dramatic actress. To kick off Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, Kendall Jenner hit the red carpet at the 2015 amfAR New York Gala on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 19, rocked a sultry crimson one-shoulder Romona Keveza gown that she teamed with sparkling pointy-toe pumps and Harry Winston jewels. The Estee Lauder spokesmodel wore her dark tresses in a slicked-back hairstyle, and sported a bright red lip to go along with her dress. In the midst of the evening gala, Jenner posted a shot via Instagram of herself sniffing a red rose with the caption, "Diamonds Are Forever."

Pregnant fashion model Coco Rocha, who attended the event with her husband James Conran, also went with a red color palette, opting to show off her growing baby bump in a satin Zac Posen gown with Harry Winston jewelry. Rocha, 26, told Us Weekly that she felt "great," as she caressed her baby bump.
