Seeing the animals in their natural habitat is one thing but this experience goes one step further - and it's not for the faint hearted
Does staring into the gaping jaws of a huge, ferocious lion at such close proximity that you can smell what it has just eaten sound like your idea of fun?
If so, you need to pay a visit to this safari park with a difference.
At Parque Safari in Rancagua, Chile, thrillseekers can get up close and personal with the majestic big cats as they ride through the predator's habitat in an open-top truck fitted with a metal cage.
And, if they dare, they can even tickle the beast's belly.
While there is the opportunity for the brave to stick their fingers through the bars, the rest can just watch as the lions, lured by fresh meat, clambers over the vehicle.
Offered as part of the experience by the park, this trip is the closest people can get to the wild beasts, without the risk of physical harm.
The lions amble up to the trucks before sniffing around and eating the meat placed for them.
They're even known to make themselves comfortable, lying down on the cages for a snooze.
Parque Safari is the first of its kind in Chile, and one of only few in Latin America.
The idea is for people to see animals in their natural habitat - with people caged in, rather than the lions.
