The No.1 hitmaker is the latest celebrity to sign up for the jungle and the Bushtucker trials

Rapper Tinchy Stryder is the latest star to sign up for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The 28-year-old, real name Kwasi Danquah III, will be hoping to become a household name thanks to his appearance on the ITV show.

A show source said: “Tinchy always has been up for a new challenge and likes the idea of doing the show and getting a new audience for his music and business interests.

“He has been described as ‘the ultimate working class boy done good’ because of his success in music and business ventures and he saw this as another opportunity so we expect him to grab it with both hands.

“Bosses are hoping he will tell some anecdotes about his A-list friends and also get flirty with some of the single females in there too.”

Born in Ghana before moving to East London when he was eight, the rapper has three albums and a new one due out soon after a break of several years since his last solo album release.

However, in the past he has had number one hits with N-Dubz and Sugababe Amelle Berrabah back in 2009 and released his last single in April.

He also co-owns a business brand, Takeover Roc Nation, a record label and talent agency, with US hip hop star Jay Z who he counts amongst his friends.

In 2009, he comforted pal Cheryl backstage at The X Factor when she was in tears over a criticism of her song choices for contestants.

More recently he hit the headlines for teaming up with kids TV duo The Chuckle Brothers for a charity track based on their catchphrase ‘To Me, To You’.

The resulting song To Me To You (Bruv) went viral last month, raising money for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and led for a campaign to get the Chuckle Brothers back on TV.

Tinchy also counts former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos amongst his friends and is likely to click with TV host Melanie Sykes in the camp as they are both big Manchester United fans.

But leggy Mel will tower over him, and he has previously banned girlfriends from wearing high heels, as he is just 5ft 5inches tall.
