Seinfeld in Parliament: A perfect match. Source: Supplied
THE absurdity of the Australian parliament has found its perfect match in a hilarious mashup featuring the characters from Seinfeld.
The video Seinfeld in Parliament was created by Melbourne resident Huw Parkinson, who said he was inspired by the image of Seinfeld character George Costanza in parliament.
“There was something about George and the childishness ... that felt perfect in question time in parliament,” he told news.com.au.

Politicians from both sides of parliament play a supporting role to the characters from the hit TV show including Jerry Seinfeld, Kramer, and Elaine, who is pictured quite at home smoking a cigar with Treasurer Joe Hockey and Finance Minister Mathias Cormann.

Parkinson, 32, works in a call centre but does animation in his spare time. He said he started creating his political mashups a few months ago.
“The first one I did of Joe Hockey was because I felt a bit of frustration about the state of politics and dialogue,” Parkinson said.
“I made it purely to show my friends. It was a bit of frustration and boredom, the right combination of the two.”
He made another featuring Clive Palmer, which got shared more widely, and encouraged him to keep making the videos.
“I’ll keep doing it while I have fun doing it,” he said.
