T-Swift celebrating with some K-Dot! Taylor Swift's 1989 sold a whopping 1.287 million copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and damn, she feels amazing.
The "Blank Space" singer, 24, celebrated her chart-topping feat by posting a message for fans on her Instagram late Tuesday, Nov. 4. "Industry experts predicted 1989 would sell 650k first week," Swift wrote. "You went and bought 1.287 million albums. AND IT'S GOT ME LIKE."

Accompanying Swift's post was a video clip of her rapping to Kendrick Lamar's "Backseat Freestyle," while hanging out in a car. "God damn I feel amazing / damn I'm in the matrix / My mind is living on cloud 9 and this 9 is never on vacation / Start up that Maserati and VROOM VROOM! I'm racing," she raps in the cute clip.
Swift's astounding record sales makes 1989 the largest sales week for a record since Eminem's The Eminem Show in 2002, which sold 1.32 million in its first full week. According to Billboard, 1989 is the biggest-selling album to be released in 2014, forging ahead of Coldplay's Ghost Stories. After just one week, it is the second-largest-selling album of the year, trailing behind the soundtrack of Disney's Frozen.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar was told recently that Swift was a fan of his "Backseat Freestyle," and that she listens to it to help her "go from feeling victimized to feeling awesome." The rapper, in response, gushed about the former country singer's new single "Shake It Off" in an interview with The Fader.
