Ed's message to Katie

Ed, who is flying into the MTV EMAs in Glasgow this weekend, signed a copy of it she’d made to keep for herself, writing: “Dear Katie, lovely to finally meet my wife.”

Katie's mum Trish said at the time: "Ed loved her artwork and asked if he could keep it for his wall.

When she presented the ring he smiled and said, ‘I suppose I should say yes.OK.’

He made it really special for her and she’s since said she needs to think about bridesmaids.”

Lea Hoey from the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation who helped to make the meeting happen said of Katie's death this morning. "We've been told Katie passed away peacefully this morning. It was a privilege to have helped make Katies dream come. Our thoughts are with her family."
