From Sherlock to Strange! Benedict Cumberbatch will play the title role in Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange film, the studio confirmed on Thursday, Dec. 4.
"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity," producer Kevin Feige said in a statement. "In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
The film will follow Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange (Sorcerer Supreme) uncovering the world of magic following a terrible car accident. The Scott Derrickson-directed film is written by Jon Spaihts.
Doctor Strange is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2016.
