Gavin and Stacey star James Corden is to be awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list next week for services to entertainment and charity, it has been reported.
Dad-of-two James, 36, who also starred in TVs the Wrong Mans and One Man Two Guvnors on stage, is one of Comic Relief and Sport Relief’s biggest celebrity backers.
A Buckingham Palace source told The Sun: “James Corden is a huge young talent on many different fronts.
“His charitable work is also very impressive, making him a fantastic ambassador for the nation.”
Dad-of-two James is also set to become the new host of CBS’s the Late Late Show in America.
James had a Number One hit, Shout, with Dizzee Rascal as England’s 2010 World Cup anthem.
British actress Joan Collins, 81, will also be made a dame after 60 years in showbusiness it has been reported.
The New Year Honours list will be published on December 31.
