Cancelled TV Shows in the Fall 2014 Season: Which New Shows Have Already Been Cut?

Nov 3, 2014

We barely knew ‘ye! It’s the grave reality of fall TV that many new shows don’t make it past a single season (if that). Not every new drama can be set in Shondaland, and though Chuck Lorre is a writing genius, he can’t pen every single comedy out there (though he certainly seems to be trying). The fall 2014-2015 season got off to a strong start, without a single cancellation until late October (apart from those pilots that never got picked up — How I Met Your Dad, we’re looking at you).

But now that ABC has axed Manhattan Love Story, several other shows have quickly followed suit. The Tuesday-night rom com starring Analeigh Tipton and Jake McDorman was given longer than usual to prove itself, as networks held off on pulling the plug on new shows while executives waited for DVR viewing data to come in.

Shortly after Manhattan Love Story was canned, NBC comedy Bad Judge starring Kate Walsh got the gavel, and the NBC romance A to Z was left heartbroken.

Here’s the cancellations body count thus far:

ABC

Manhattan Love Story

Fox

Utopia

NBC

A to Z

Bad Judge
