CHRIS Hemsworth has been anointed People magazine’s latest Sexiest Man Alive.
The Aussie star was announced as the winner on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the US, where he took part in a Skype video call with the host from Australia.

“Thank you, I’m most excited about the alive portion of that statement, and the sexy part is a bonus,” he joked.
“This is based on an IQ test and not just physical appearance,” he said, before gesturing to his much-vaunted physique, and adding that he’d like to thank “my parents for putting this together”.

Hemsworth joked that he’d learned a thing or two from his good mate, Matt Damon.
“I learned everything there is about being sexy from Matt — pursing the lips, squinting at the right time,” he said. “Thank you Matt and all the other previous intelligent men.”

When asked how his brother Liam reacted to the news, Hemsworth said: “Liam has been good, he’s been a real team player for this one. We’ve been throwing sexy looks back and forth.”

Hemsworth told People he thought it was “pretty funny” that he took out the title, and that that his wife of four years Elsa Pataky had also had a good laugh.
“I think you’ve bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house. I can just say to her, ‘Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don’t need to do the dishes anymore, I don’t need to change nappies. I’m above that. I’ve made it now.’”

Hemsworth is the 28th Sexiest Man Alive to date, taking over the title from Adam Levine.
Mel Gibson and Hugh Jackman have taken the title before alongside other hunks such as Richard Gere, Patrick Swayze, Sean Connery, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew McConnaghey and Channing Tatum.
