SPICE fans: This is not a drill.
OK, maybe it sort of is. But keen Spice-watchers will know that for years now, the only thing standing in the way of a fully-fledged reunion for music’s greatest girl group (fact) was old misery guts herself, Victoria Beckham — aka The Artist Formally Known As Posh Spice.
While each of the other girls have spoken with fondness about their willingness to reunite once more, Beckham’s desire to distance herself from all things Spice has been on show to sometimes comical effect.

But that might be about to change. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News at a showcase for her fashion label this week, Beckham was asked about the Spice Girls’ impending 20-year-reunion. In June 2016, it’ll be exactly two decades since the release of the chart-topping song that started it all, Wannabe.

Why, that’s a little over 18 months away — just enough time to prep a world tour, an album, or a new range of Spice Girls Chupa Chups (dream big). Do the group have anything planned for the anniversary, the Standard asked?
“I hope to have a few things in the pipeline but I’m not ready to talk about them yet,” was Beckham’s reply — coy, yes, but certainly a lot more promising than the usual ‘the Spice Girls are finished for good’ line she usually offers when drawn on the topic.
