Duck Dynasty Family, The Robertsons, Getting a Musical Based Off Their Life -- Get All the Details!

Nov 12, 2014

Cue the duck call! Willie and Korie Robertson, as well as the rest of the clan behind A&E's Duck Dynasty, are hitting the stage -- well, kind of. The family is going to be portrayed by actors on stage in The Duck Commander Family Musical, their rep confirms to Us Weekly.

"The Dodgers are in discussion with the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas to produce The Duck Commander Family Musical, based on The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty book by Willie and Korie Robertson, in early 2015," a statement read to Us. "The semi-biographical musical about the Robertson family has music and lyrics by Robert Morris, Steven Morris and Joe Shane (known for the musical White Noise produced in Chicago by Whoopi Goldberg) and a book by Asa Somers. Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Grey Gardens, Grease) is the director and choreographer. The complete cast and production team will be announced at a later date."

And although the camouflage-wearing, duck-hunting family on stage seems a bit unnatural -- Korie Roberton told Us Weekly it's all about the kids.

"It’s gonna be cool and it’ll be another play that people can take their kids to," she explained. "We love to go to musicals when we go to New York…We're excited!"

Tell Us: Will you be catching the family's musical?
