Mama is moving on. After five seasons, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer announced on Twitter in the early hours of Friday, Nov. 21 that she will not be returning to the MTV reality show.
Messer, 22, broke the news while responding to a tweet from a fan. A follower asked the star about the next season of Teen Mom 2, writing, "Are you doing season 6?" Messer immediately responded, writing simply, "No."

The mother to three (Adalynn Faith, 21 months, and twins Aleeah and Aliannah, soon to be 5) went on to apologize to her supporters for her decision to quit the show, writing "I'm sorry" to a Twitter user who commented, "that's so sad I loved watching you every week!"
Messer added that she hopes her costars will continue with the show, writing of Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, and Kailyn Lowry, "I hope my girls continue to move on with TM2. I wish them the BEST xoxo… My girls still do what they do and keep things going!"

Just days before she confirmed her departure, Messer tweeted cryptically about a life change.
"Good morning!" she wrote on Monday, Nov. 17. "Everyone keep me in your thoughts and prayers today! #Nervous #BigDecisions."
Later that day, she added, "Failure does not mean that you'll never get what you want, sometimes failure means that you have to fight harder for something better."

It's been a hard few months for Messer, who is still embroiled in a messy custody battle with her ex-husband Corey Simms. In addition to her fight for her kids, she has been feuding with her current husband Jeremy Calvert on Twitter over allegations of cheating.
MTV has yet to comment on Messer's departure from the show, which was reported this past September to be renewed for a sixth season.
