PAULINE Hanson has given another of her memorable TV interviews, telling viewers this morning that the war against terror was one that “we cannot win”.
In a segment with the “Human Headline” Derryn Hinch on Sunrise, the former One Nation MP gave a halting account of her views about the threat posed by Islamic State, before going on to claim that 16-25 per cent of all Muslims were extremists.
“So how do you know which is a good Muslim and which isn’t a bad Muslim?” she said.
Challenged to explain her source for the claim, Hanson gave an awkward reply.
“That comes from Brigitte Gabriel, in, and she’s an American,” Hanson said.
Hinch interjected: “And that makes her an expert?”
Hanson responded: “These are world figures on it that are investigated figures on it. All right, well OK. I’d just tell Australians, go and do your own research.”
Brigitte Gabriel is a journalist and author who polarises opinions with her outspoken views. Critics have described her as “a radical Islamophobe” and a peddler of hate speech.
Hanson’s appearance was swiftly condemned on social media.
Pretty spectacular takedown of Pauline Hanson by @HumanHeadline on #sunrise after she claimed 16-25pc of Muslims were extremists!
