Woman, 47, held after passer-by found the body of a 31-year-old man on the A24 in the early hours of this morning

A middle-aged woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after she allegedly knocked down and killed a pedal cyclist and drove off, leaving him to die in the road.
A major hunt had been launched by police after the 31-year-old mountain bike rider was found sprawled in the road in the early hours of Sunday by a passer-by.
The motorist who struck him drove off without stopping.
The fatality happened on the A24 road at Beare Green, Surrey and emergency services were alerted after the passer-by stumbled across the young victim.
His mountain bike was lying nearby.
A spokesman for Surrey Police issued an urgent appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
"Emergency services were called to the A24, next to the Esso Petrol Station at 1.25am today after the young man, who had been riding a mountain bike, was found lying in the road by a member of the public," said the spokesman.
"He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics."
The A24 was closed between the Beare Green Roundabout northbound and Mill Road southbound for several hours while officers carried out their investigation.
The spokesman said later that a 47-year-old woman from the Horley area of Surrey has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and with drink-driving.
"This is in connection with an incident on the A24 in Beare Green at 1.25am today.
A 31-year-old cyclist died following the collision which involved another vehicle," said the spokesman.
