The 10-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham stars in a new ad for upmarket fashion brand Burberry

WE’RE accustomed to celebrities going to extreme lengths to shield their children from the public eye.
David and Victoria Beckham, however, appear to have gone to the other extreme. The couple’s second-eldest child, 12-year-old son Romeo, is now a fully fledged fashion model, working the red carpet at the launch of Burberry’s festive campaign in London yesterday.
The youngster, who was first announced as a Burberry model when he was just 10 years old, handled the event like a pro, and appeared to lap up the attention from media and fans.

But the pre-teen’s high profile role has not come without controversy. Britain’s highest-paid male model David Gandy, 34, appeared to question Romeo’s modelling credentials in a recent interview with the Sun, saying: “Who’s Romeo? Oh, that’s Beckham’s son. I think the Beckham name will have helped for that one.”

Beckham’s globally famous parents are fashionistas themselves, and Romeo was hand-picked by Burberry’s chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey, to star in the label’s campaigns.
But at just 12 years old, the role is exposing him to some unwanted attention — as evidenced by the flurry of hundreds of creepy tweets in the past 24 hours from fans declaring their love for the photogenic kid. We won’t publish them here, but here are a few speaking sense:
