Dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for Jamie Morrison, who has been described as a "top guy" who was "loved by all"

Police are probing the sudden death of a talented musician who was found dead in his home.

Jamie Stuart Morrison’s body was found by a family member at a house in Edinburgh on Tuesday afternoon.

Dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for the 27-year-old who has been described as a "top guy" who was "loved by all".

His sister, Jodie, 26, paid tribute to her beloved brother on social media. She wrote: "Jamie I love you, I’ll never stop loving you.

"Thanks for all the support from everyone I just can’t really say much right now in shock."

Jamie, a former member of the hit theatre production the Edinburgh Gang Show, was known for his "famous laugh" and ability to entertain.

The cast paid tribute to their friend and said he will be missed.

They said: "Yesterday we learned the very sad news that past cast member and supporter of the Edinburgh Gang Show Jamie Morrison had died.

"Jamie first appeared in the Edinburgh Gang Show as a Cub Scout in the 80th anniversary item in 1996 and then joined the Main Gang in 1999.

"A natural comedian and singer he often appeared in sketches and fronted musical numbers over a number of years.

"His involvement in Gang Show led him to join many other musical theatre groups in Edinburgh and beyond with him often playing principal parts.

"In recent years he regularly popped into Gang Show rehearsals to support the current Gang and to offer a welcome joke and funny anecdote to the Production Team.

"Only last Friday he was there at the King’s where his famous laugh could be heard all around the auditorium. Our thoughts are with his family and close friends at this very sad time."

Heartfelt messages continued to pour in as the tragic news of Jamie’s death spread.

Becki Clark wrote: “Such sad news tonight. Everyone is fighting a battle we don’t know about.”

Taz Ashraf-Rafiq said: “I’m so sorry to hear about the tragic news! Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. Your brother was a top guy and loved by all."

Marc Mackinnon added: "Gutted about Jamie Morrison. Worst news. He was a great guy and will be thoroughly missed. RIP Jamie x"

Jamie’s dad, Tam Morrison, changed his profile picture to a snap of him and his son when he was a young child while Jodie posted a video of her brother singing Angel by Shaggy.

A post mortem will be carried out to find out how he died.

A police spokesman said: "Police attended an address in Whitson Way on Tuesday 26 November to reports of a man’s body.

"A 27-year-old man was found dead. There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
