‘Cause the Taylor’s gonna play, play, play, play, play! On Sunday, Nov. 23, Taylor Swift had the time of her life at the 2014 American Music Awards. Kicking off the show with her wide-eyed, fire-tossing performance of her new no. 1 single “Blank Space,” Swifty had only just begun.
Surrounded by her gal pals Lorde, Selena Gomez, and Karlie Kloss, the Dick Clark Award of Excellence winner, 24, grooved in the audience — per usual — throughout the entire show. When her New Zealander pal, 18, took to the stage to sing “Yellow Flicker Beat,” Swift thrashed along with her, singing along to the song off The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 soundtrack.
Then, when Justin Bieber’s on-again, off-again flame Gomez, 22, took the stage to sing her tortured new ballad “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” Swift had tears in her eyes while watching her friend get emotional on the stage.
But towards the end of the night, the NYC ambassador let loose again, dancing up on Brit Jessie J during her rendition of “Bang Bang.” Sliding her backside up against the jumpsuit-clad crooner, Swift bopped along to the hit single, which also features Ariana Grande and rapper Nicki Minaj.
