But it's actually so Christian it's the centre of the Catholic Church in Britain.
The Twitter account of the Ukip branch of South Thanet have mistakenly identified Westminster Cathedral as a mosque.
The mistake came about in an exchange with BBC correspondent Giles Dilnot, which has now been deleted.
They accused him of filming a piece on what the public think about Nigel Farage in front of a mosque.
Accused of bias by a Kipper for doing my moodbox in front of "a mosque" ...it was Westminster Catholic cathedral

Once they realised the error, they immediately apologised, although their supporters claim they can see where they were coming from.
@MopCrop @ukip_sththanet @reporterboy To be fair the building us pretty Gothic and middle-eastern looking in style.

It's so Christian it's actually the centre of the Catholic Church in Britain
Westminster Cathedral is actually the seat of Catholicism in England where the highest-ranked Catholic bishop in the country sits, and has been such for over 100 years.
"It was the site of the prison once but it's never been a mosque", the Westminster Cathedral spokesperson told us.
A former parishioner can also confirm that the services held at Westminster Cathedral were indeed Catholic.
It's not a mosque, but it is Byzantine
Westminster Cathedral is actually built in the Byzantine style. We'll grant them, it's unusual in British churches, but not unknown. Here's a little architectural primer.
Sadly the Ukipper behind the tweet has now been denied access to the South Thanet twitter account.
