Labour MP Emily Thornberry, the shadow attorney general, is in Rochester as the by-election - expected to be hotly contented between political parties - takes place.
But when Ms Thornberry tweeted the above image, Twitter reacted very angrily:
@EmilyThornberry is your phone just randomly taking pictures by itself and tweeting them?

@MrHarryCole @EmilyThornberry Every time you think Labour can't get more repellent, or STUPIDER, they do so. Maybe Ed is the best of them?

@EmilyThornberry how out of touch are you? And you wonder why no one wants to vote for you and your vacuum packed lefty snobs

@MrHarryCole @EmilyThornberry Don't be alarmed, that's just a working class person, they are actually often very nice.

Woah, Labour MP. Labour > “@EmilyThornberry: Image from #Rochester pic.twitter.com/9n6QcIfxzq”

She has said it didn't mean anything:
“I was tweeting lots of images from Rochester, including a picture of me with a former Lib Dem councillor and the Monster Raving Loony Party," she told the Islington Tribune.
"I think there’s a lot of trouble-makers out there. I’ve never seen a house with so many England flags draped outside.”
