An autopsy has found that the 26-year-old, who modelled for labels including Prada and L'Oreal, had pushed herself too far with an intensive training regime
A supermodel who was found dead in the bath with her two dogs, died of exhaustion an autopsy has found.
Katerina Netolicka's body was discovered in her apartment at the start of November.
The 26-year-old died from exhaustion caused by an intensive training regime that left her so exhausted she had a fatal heart attack.
Details of the autopsy published in Czech media showed that the model, who worked for top labels like Prada, L' Oreal and who was also a cover girl for Elle and Harper's Bazaar, had simply pushed herself too far.
As well as her work as a top model she was also a Czech kickboxing Champion and was preparing for the world championship with a tough training regime when she died.
Her coach Josef Bajko, 47, said: "She trained six times a week. She wanted to train also on the day she died but called me saying she felt too tired."
Director of paramedics Zdenek Schwarz, 51: "Her body was quite simply exhausted.
"It seems it was overburdened and we understand her heart simply stopped working. Yes it is more common in older people but unfortunately it happens also to young people."
The young woman who was the girlfriend of famous Czech ice hockey player Jakub Petruzalek, 29, had been found dead in the bath of her apartment in the Czech town of Litvinov on November 9th last year by her brother.
According to Czech media her two dogs were found dead next to her, but the information was never officially confirmed, although it gave rise to speculation that she had probably been poisoned by leaking gas.
However police say that the autopsy revealed that she wasn't murdered nor were there any substances in her body when she died.
Instead they said she had simply been suffering from health complications of which she was not aware of and had been training too hard.
Katerina Netolicka's boyfriend Jakub Petruzalek cancelled his career in the Russian ice hockey club Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg and returned to the Czech Republic shortly after Katerina died to be near his and her family.
