Kerry Anne Wilde had taken her daughter to the gig when she fell and hit her head, needing medical assistance
A mother who “failed in her duty as a role model” and bit a paramedic at a One Direction gig has escaped jail.
Kerry Anne Wilde, 27, had taken her daughter to watch the world-famous group perform at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
But when she fell during the concert on May 30 this year, and banged her head, emergency services attended to treat her.
As paramedics attempted to help Wilde she bit one on the shoulder and had to be restrained.
Wilde from Derbyshire, admitted assault at Manchester Magistrates Court.
Yesterday she was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for one year.
She was also ordered to pay the victim £200 compensation, as well as other costs and ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Detective Constable Dave Berry, said: “I hope this incident has acted as a sobering warning for Wilde, who not only failed in her duty as a role model in front of her daughter, but who inexcusably bit a paramedic who was just trying to help her.
“The NHS takes a zero tolerance approach to abuse and assaults on its staff, a stance fully supported by the police and we will work with all partners to ensure anyone who attacks members of the emergency services is brought to justice.”
