A young woman boasted about her conviction for uploading a video of a friend having sex onto Facebook.
Danika France, 18, walked into a bedroom and recorded her pal Leah Trevena, 19, in a passionate clinch with a man after a night out.
But a month later the pair fell out, and the teenager uploaded the private footage onto Facebook where it could be viewed by the public.
Devastated Leah said she felt "suicidal" after the video appeared.
France pleaded guilty and was branded "stupid" by magistrates, but appeared unrepentant in the hours after her conviction.
After discovering her crime was set to feature in a local newspaper, the teen crowed to friends online: “I’m famous, ha ha!
“Front page tomorrow, ha!”
Macclesfield Magistrates Court heard how Miss Travena felt "hurt and humiliated".
The friends had been on a night out in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, on October 23 when the victim met a man who she took home and had sex with.
France came upstairs with a camera and recorded them in bed, laughing in the process as Miss Travena was heard protesting.
The teen, who works as a carer looking after people with mental health problems and dementia, touted the footage round to her friends, asking: “I’ve got the video if anyone else wants it.”
Miss Trevena said: “I want her to realise what she’s done. She doesn’t know how much it’s affected me. I have been suicidal. I feel really vulnerable.
“She put something online that should never have happened, I didn’t let her take a video of me, it should be private.
“I don’t go out in town anymore, I’ve not been out since. I feel embarrassed and don’t trust anyone anymore. It’s really affected my confidence.
“I’m glad the police took me seriously and she has been in court now, so I have some closure.
“I want people to know that posting things like this online is a very serious issue and people can go to the police.
“It’s so easy to upload and people think there are no real consequences, but there are.”
France is on conditional bail and will be sentenced next month.
Chairman of the bench James Donohue said: “This offence is very serious and exceedingly stupid - and that’s an understatement.”
France, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, admitted sending footage to Facebook of non-explicit sexual activity for the purpose of causing distress under the Malicious Communications Act.
John Gallagher, defending, said: “This has all the hallmarks of why I hate social media. It’s difficult to envisage how much damage this can cause.
“The problem with putting something on the internet is it’s very difficult to purge it.”
