The actor's life has been full of controversial moments over the years
Over the last couple of years actor Shia LaBeouf has hit the headlines on numerous occasions for a whole range of startling reasons.
On Thursday the 28-year-old once again shocked fans when he claimed he was raped by a woman who visited him in his #IAMSORRY art show earlier this year.
Amid this latest news we take a look back at some of the very impressive highs and devastating lows that have plagued the former child star's life.
1986: Shia was born on June 11 to a dancer mother and Vietnam war veteran.
2000: Shia gets his leading role in Disney show Even Stevens after premiering a foul-mouthed stand-up routine aged 10.
2003: The actor made waves with his film debut Holes which was a huge success. At the time there were reports of diva-like behaviour from the upcoming actor.
2004-2007: After all of the good work he’d done, Shia was making a name for himself as quite the young star with roles in Disturbia and Constantine.
2005: Meanwhile, he’s accused of getting into a confrontation with some ‘lads’ in his own swanky apartment complex after they dissed his mother. It’s reported Shia brought a friend and a KNIFE to scare them up a bit. Thankfully it didn’t escalate to some kind of horror story but it did mean Shia was shoved by six kids.
2007: Shia was arrested for criminal trespassing at a Walgreens (a well known pharmacy chain in the US).
2008: A lucky escape for Shia after his truck was hit by a car running a red light. At the scene an officer claimed to have smelled alcohol on Shia’s breath but the actor refused a Breathalyzer. This meant he was arrested for misdemeanour drunk driving but was later cleared of any blame. He underwent surgery on his hand after the accident.
2010: Shia began dating hottie Carey Mulligan. The world was very impressed.
2011: Another altercation leads to him getting slogged in the face during a bar brawl. It all kicked off when the other bloke tried stealing Shia’s baseball cap.
2011: Bizarrely, he claimed to have been in a relationship with Megan Fox (while she was dating Brian Green) as well as a fling with Isobel Lucas (while she was seeing Adrian Grenier).
2012: Shia appeared completely NAKED in as music video for Sigur Ros.
2012: He makes the shocking announcement that he’ll be having some of the actual sex with a co-star in his next movie Nymphomaniac. About a week later he says he was just kidding.
2012: In the same month as the naked video and sex claims, Shia decided to take acid and live tweet his experience.
2013: This is either a moment of true genius or acceptable trolling – but when Shia dropped out of the Broadway show Orphans, nobody expected him to feud with former co-star Alec Baldwin before sitting in the front row of the show to totally wind up the cast.
2013: Shia acted incredibly aggressively towards a fan with reports saying that when a female fan approached Shia for his scribble he made her cry and threatened her boyfriend when he attempted to intervene saying: “I can get you killed.”
2013: After quite a dramatic year, Shia is accused of blatantly plagiarising Daniel Clowes’ 2008 comic book in his online film.
2013: Shia makes desperate apologises for plagiarising by posting a series of apologies which have been plagiarised.
2014: The troubled actor decides the best move was to make his formal and heartfelt apology to Clowes was by hiring a skywriter in Los Angeles, despite the fact that Clowes doesn’t live nearby.
2014: Shia retires from all public life on Twitter
2014: He then decides he's not famous anymore by posting about a dozen tweets telling us so.
2014: The Transformers star reportedly headbutted a drinker at the Hobgoblin in South London over remarks made about the mother of his girlfriend.
2014: During a press conference for upcoming flick Nymphomaniac – Shia decides to say probably the weirdest quote of all time before storming off. For those who don't know, this is one of the craziest quotes in footballing history. In 1995, on learning he would be taking up 120 hours of community service, Manchester United legend Eric Cantona spluttered the same words and walked out in front of the media.
2014: To prove to everyone that he’s not famous, Shia ironically becomes more famous than ever by wearing a paper bag over his head.
June 2014: Shia is charged and held by police after he was arrested for causing disruption during a Broadway show. He is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing for the incident which happened during the Cabaret musical in New York. Cops were called after the 28-year-old was seen by witnesses stumbling, swearing and smoking inside the theatre. In September he pleased guilty.
Early November 2014: Shia makes an appearance in court to show he was successfully complying with his treatment programme.The court ruled that if he stays in a treatment programme for at least another three months and out of trouble until next March, he will be allowed to withdraw the guilty plea and the case will be dismissed.
November 2014: The actor claims he was raped by a woman who visited him in his #IAMSORRY art show earlier this year. He spent five days with a bag over his head in a small room in an LA gallery, inviting members of the public to come in and spend time with him. He claims: "One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me.”
