Her father says the 16-year-old is scared to leave hospital after the shocking assault
An aspiring teen model whose face was hacked up with a machete is “scared to leave hospital”, according to her dad.
The brutal attack left the 16-year-old with serious facial injuries and a fractured skull after an alleged fight with another girl in Leeds.
Her dad, who cannot be named to avoid identifying his daughter, claimed the appalling injuries had left her “timid” and facing a long road to recovery.
He said: "She' s scared to leave hospital. She's a happy-go-lucky girl, she speaks her own mind.
But right now she's timid and her mental state isn't what it was. I'm just hoping she will get back to her old self."
A 17-year-old boy appeared in court on Friday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was remanded into custody until his appearance at Leeds Crown Court later this month.
After visiting his daughter's bedside, the father said he was left reeling by the injuries.
He added: "She had a massive laceration across her face and was complaining of a severe headache.
"I'm devastated to think that such a thing could happen to a teenage girl.
"It's just not what anyone would think could happen in this day and age."
Two other males, aged 17 and 20, and a 15-year-old girl were also arrested in connection with the incident and remain on bail.
