The season 8 premiere of The Voice is still a month away, but Us Weekly can exclusively reveal this season’s celebrity mentors. Multiple sources confirm that Lionel Richie will help Team Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding will mentor Team Adam Levine, Nick Jonas will handle Team Christina Aguilera, and Meghan Trainor will assist Team Blake Shelton.
Mentors come into play during the battle round stage of the competition, directly following the fan-favorite blind auditions.

Of all the mentors, only “All Night Long” crooner Richie, 65, has appeared in this role on the show before, assisting Team Christina in season 2.
The new season of The Voice premieres on Monday, Feb. 23. Aguilera, 34, who is currently working on her eighth studio album and gave birth to daughter Summer Rain in August, will return after taking two consecutive seasons off from the hit NBC competition series.
Williams, 41, will keep his seat after making his Voice debut in season 7 alongside Gwen Stefani. Original members Levine, 35, and Shelton, 38, will be appearing in their eighth consecutive season together after Shelton’s Craig Wayne Boyd was crowned last season’s victor.
“New baby. New Music. New season of @NBCtheVoice. Bringing #FireAndFun to all, can’t wait for 2015!” Aguilera tweeted back in October.
