Delores Cureton, 61, allegedly tried to fire the pistol before using it to smash the car's windows and lights
A jilted wife has been accused of smashing up her cheating husband's car with a pistol and hammer.
Police in York, South Carolina, say Delores Cureton took her husband John's pistol out of his car and tried firing it after finding out he was having an affair.
When the firearm failed to go off, Cureton allegedly used it to smash the car's windows and lights before wrecking the rest of the Lincoln Town Car with a hammer, reports the New York Daily News.
John Cureton told police he did not want to press charges but his 61-year-old wife has been charged with criminal domestic violence for the January 31 incident.
Police say that when they arrived at the scene the car was covered in blood and Cureton’s right hand was bleeding.
She passed out and was taken to hospital but later released.
