It is reported that the couple, who have been engaged since Christmas 2012, reportedly tied the knot at their home
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp and model girlfriend Amber Heard have tied the knot at their home in Los Angeles, it was reported last night.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star was expected to get married at the weekend at a much bigger ceremony on the star’s private island Little Hall's Pond Cay in the Bahama s.
However the couple fooled everyone with a private ceremony on Wednesday in California.
Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, got engaged at Christmas 2012 after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary
They only stepped out as couple after the actor split with longtime partner Vanessa Paradis , who he has daughter Lily-Rose, 15, and son Jack, 12, with.
It is Depp’s second marriage after previously walking down the aisle with Lori Anne Allison in December 1983.
However they split after two years.
The actor is well known as being one of Hollywood’s biggest lotharios , previously being engaged to actresses Jennifer Grey and Sherilyn Fenn in the late 1980s before proposing in 1990 to his Edward Scissorhands co-star Winona Ryder.
He famously had "WINONA FOREVER” tattooed on his right arm.
In 1998, following a four-year relationship with British supermodel Kate Moss, Depp began seeing Paradis after they met while filming The Ninth Gate.
After a fourteen-year relationship and following months of media speculation, Depp and Paradis announced their separation in June 2012.
Depp is believed to have chosen to wed this month in order to fit in with their hectic work schedules.
A source close to the couple said: "Amber has been filming a movie in London, and he's getting ready to film the next Pirates of the Caribbean in Australia.
“So this is the only time that everyone could get together."
Describing the island where the couple are set to have a reception at the weekend Depp once said: "I don't think I'd ever seen any place so pure and beautiful.
"You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It's instant freedom."
