Footage from a police helicopter shows cops surrounding the sprawling home after receiving a 999 call
This extraordinary footage shows the moment puppy farmer John Lowe surrendered himself to armed police moments after murdering his partner and her daughter.
The 82-year-old can be seen leaving his sprawling home through a side door with cops nervously training their guns on him.
He walks slowly towards a police car with officers barking instructions to him before placing his hands on the vehicle.
Moments before, police had received a frantic 999 call from Lucy Lee who said her mum Christine, 66, had been shot by Lowe. Minutes later the 40-year-old was killed herself after being shot in the head and chest.
LISTEN TO HARROWING 999 CALL MADE BY VICTIM MOMENTS BEFORE SHE WAS MURDERED
This footage - shot from a police helicopter - shows armed police arriving at Keepers Cottage Stud, Tilford, Surrey after receiving the call.
Unaware of where the armed pensioner is, a line of police cars move slowly up the driveway towards the home, directed from above by their colleagues in the helicopter.
One of the police officers on the ground can be heard at the start of the video saying: "We are coming up the driveway now."
He then asks the pilot: "Is there a person at the front door?"
The pilot replies: "Answer no. I cannot see any persons."
A police car then slowly approaches the house, with officers unaware where the gunman is.
Highlighting the nervousness of the situation, an officer warns colleagues: "Just beware of these outbuildings as well."
As the police take up their positions, one officer on the ground confirms he has seen a dead dog.
Eventually, the footage shows Lowe leaving the home and walking towards the police car before he is eventually arrested.
At Guildford Crown Court today, Lowe was found guilty of the murder of his partner Christine Lee, 66, and her daughter, Lucy.
They were found dead, along with four dogs at Keepers Cottage Stud, Tilford, Surrey on February 23.
During the trial, the jury was told how police officers found "a scene of carnage" with a guard dog lying died at the front of the house.
Lucy was found on steps at the back of the house with her mother in the living room.
According to the prosecution, Christine was shot in the chest from around one foot away while her daughter was shot in the back of the head from nine-ten feet away and again in the chest from around one foot.
Mr Dennis said that in police interview, Mr Lowe put forward two prepared statements with the essence of his account was he had been under increasing stress because of the way Christine and Lucy treated him and claimed the shootings were accidental, citing a loose safety catch on the shotgun.
"If that cow hadn't gone all mental at me, I wouldn't have gone and pulled the trigger. I didn't mean to pull it," Mr Lowe said at Guildford police station after his arrest.
In interview he said he tried to shoot himself.
However the prosecutor poured scorn on that account, saying: "He does not assist Christine Lee or go to her aid or summon help after that shot as she lay bleeding on the floor. He just walks away. Hardly the signs of an accidental shooting."
