POOR Rita Ora. The British pop star’s not having much luck lately, is she?
Previously, we’d brought you the news that the I Will Never Let You Down hit maker had to go back to the drawing board with her upcoming sophomore album when producer Calvin Harris withdrew all his songs from the project following their messy breakup.
And now, it seems Ora’s been dealt a harsh blow by her own fans.

Yesterday, the singer Tweeted her followers — almost 4 million of them — with one simple promise: If she got 100,000 retweets, she’d premiere her new single on Monday.

However, a few hours on from that tweet, Ora was sitting at less than 2% of her lofty goal, with fewer than 2,000 fans having retweeted the message.
The tweet soon disappeared from Ora’s timeline, but further attention was drawn to the blunder today when Ora claimed the original tweet was written, not by her, but by an unidentified ‘hacker’.

Or the bots insist on it! When it's ready we will drop music! Luckily I caught the hacker really quickly and deleted the post. Thank you!!

We’d never accuse Rita Ora of lying, but this all seems like very uncharacteristic behaviour for an internet hacker. Breaking into a celebrity’s Twitter account, not to steal personal pictures or information, but to try and mount a publicity campaign for their next single? Huh. OK.
We’ll wait and see if Rita debuts that new song on Monday, then.
