After two years of handbags Simon Cowell and James Arthur have finally kissed and made up... Or have they
After what’s been a very turbulent relationship, Simon Cowell and James Arthur have finally buried the hatchet.
Following two years of animosity and very public spats – which resulted in the 2012 X Factor winner being unceremoniously axed from Si’s Syco record label earlier this year – 3am can reveal that the pair have made up. For now.
Singer James, 26, got in touch with the talent show guru’s team, asking to come down to the studios to watch the show. Simon graciously accepted and gave James and his sister VIP tickets to sit in the audience on Sunday night.
But ahead of filming Si, 55, invited James to his dressing room where they ironed out their differences. James, sporting shades and newly dark hair, then enjoyed dinner at the London studios with this year’s hopefuls.
A source says: “Even though Simon dropped James after just one record, and didn’t condone the way he conducted himself on Twitter, he still thinks that James is incredibly talented and wanted to put water under the bridge.
“James seems to be in a really good place now – he genuinely seems happier than ever. This is something he needed to do to be able to move on.” Things got out of hand when James posted offensive song lyrics online, including a homophobic slur.
He also lashed out at fellow Syco signing One Direction – Si’s prized act – and his own PR team, telling them to “stick to promoting” former Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts.
James, who was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger, even hit out at Simon on Twitter. He wrote and then deleted: “Certain people in the industry have really illustrated points I’ve made known in interviews.”
Simon reacted to James’ outbursts saying: “I think James, unfortunately, has had so many issues with what he has done. Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.”
Before dropping him altogether in March.
We’re glad you’ve sorted it out, boys...
